FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

Eyelash extensions are individual, synthetic lashes that are applied one by one to your natural eyelashes. Each synthetic extension is attached to a natural eyelash.  It is a very detailed beauty service and you DO NOT need to use any mascara while wearing Eyelash Extensions.  It is a very careful and intense service, which requires skill and precision.  Once applied, these lashes are so natural looking, it is difficult to tell even close that you have extensions on.   Lash extensions can come in many different lengths, thickness and curls making it a convenient and practical way to enhance your natural beauty.

*Don´t be confused with strip lashes, flares or clusters which should only be used for one day to avoid damage to your natural lashes.

HOW LONG WILL MY EXTENSIONS LAST?

We lose one natural eyelash almost every day.  We also grow a new lash to replace the one that fell out.  These extensions can stay up 5 weeks with the proper care and maintenance.  However, factors such as eyelash growth, lifestyle and general aftercare will affect how long the lashes last.  You should expect to have around 50% of the lashes remaining at the end of the 4th week. That's  why we recommend a refill every 3 weeks.  They can be worn indefinitely as long as you continue with regular monthly refills.

DO THE EXTENSIONS DAMAGE MY NATURAL EYELASHES?

No, because your natural lashes are always shedding and replacing themselves.  The technician carefully separates each natural eyelash so it can  continue  growing while you wear the extensions.  The lash adhesive is formulated to create a solid bond, specifically for human lashes.  The adhesive dries very soft on the lashes, allowing them to stay flexible and bouncy just like your own natural lashes.

WHAT PRODUCTS OR ACTIVITIES SHOULD I AVOID?

You can do almost all your normal activities, swimming, exercising, steam rooms, tanning, facials, and normal skin cleansing.  You can use normal eye makeup, but avoid oil proof mascara.  Use a waterbase mascara and an oil-free makeup remover.

Prolonged and excessive exposure to heat, humidity, and water may lessen the life of your lashes, but will not make them fall off. Some of our regular clients are fitness enthusiasts and do not tend to lose their lashes more quickly than others.

Avoid touching or picking at the extensions.  Picking damage the natural lashes by breaking or pulling them out.

CAN I WEAR MASCARA WITH EXTENSIONS?

The point of getting these lashes is to free you from having to apply mascara daily.  The adhesive we use is black, and we coat every eyelash, so it's like wearing permanent mascara.  However, it may be worn.  It must only be water based mascara.  Do not use oil based or water-proof mascara as they can dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the life of your eyelash extensions causing them to fall sooner.  Care also needs to be taken in washing off the mascara.   Only use a water based eye makeup remover.

WHICH LENGTH, THICKNESS, AND CURL ARE RIGHT FOR ME?

Your natural lashes determine which extensions are the best fit for you.  If you have a specific style in mind, we can talk about how to make it work and what kind of wear time you can expect.

CAN I REMOVE THE EXTENSIONS BY MYSELF?

Please do not attempt to remove any lashes on your own, seek professional help from your technician.  WE WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES THAT YOU MAY CAUSE BY TRYING TO REMOVE THE EYELASH EXTENSIONS ON YOUR OWN.

HOW MANY EXTENSIONS DO YOU APPLY?

The number of extensions that complete a full set varies for each person.  Depending on your natural lashes, we apply anywhere from 20 to 100 extensions per eye.

CAN I CURL OR PERM MY LASHES?

No, you won´t have to, as your extensions come in a permanent curl shape that won´t wash out.  Using an eyelash curler will shorten the life of your extensions.
